Growing Up Without Giving Up
By Joyce Meye
Rather, let our lives lovingly express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).—Ephesians 4:15
Growing up spiritually is not always easy. It might be said that we believers have to endure many "growing pains." Due to the challenging times, often we are tempted to give up. We all need to realize the progress we have made.
Perhaps you have been struggling with yourself. You know that you need to change. You desire to be like Jesus. And yet you feel that you are making no progress. The first thing you must realize is that you are making progress. Little by little, you are changing.
Take some time and think about where you were when you first accepted Christ into your heart. Listen to the Holy Spirit instead of listening to the devil! The way to listen to the Holy Spirit is by following your heart not your head or your feelings. Learn to live beyond your feelings.
Don't compare yourself with other people. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Be patient with yourself. Keep pressing on and believe that you are changing every day.
Don't give up! You are growing up!
Friends, today has growing up pose a great problem to you? have u stopped growing bcoz of the anticipated problems that lay ahead of you? or are you just too afraid to grow up to accept new challenges, responsibilities and changes tat you are gonna take in your new role? or are you feeling satisified with where you are now? *ponder*
Definitely, pains there will be in growing up. But its thru all these pains and the scars that was left behind from all the falls that really show me how together with Jesus i have moved on and have outgrown these painful experiences.
When we fall, remember not to leave your wounds unattended. Bacteria and germs will come, eventually infection then rotten flesh. In the same way, when facing trials while growing up, do not take it lightly and say its ok.. it will be over soon. Exposing that area of weakness and not dealing with it promptly will only let the devil has the chance to "rub salt into your wound". Dun let him have a chance to invade our lives. But treat tat cut in the proper way and nurse it. Applying the wound with God's promises, holding on to it and injecting yrself by staying in His presence is the best way to recovery. Nothing seems too painful and too difficult when Jesus our HEALER is with us! Rem each fall is not fatal. It will not handicapped you.
So.. Still wanna grow up? =)
Yes i want to grow in:
Height- more mountain moving faith in GOD
Depth- developing more faith in MYSELF
Width- never dying faith in OTHERS
Length- borderless faith in my FUTURE
YOU CAN GROW TOO!
I am still running the race... are you catching up?
