Hi to all!
Today just wanna share with you all a vision that I have from God! It was really awesome! As I was worshipping God, I begin to see myself running. I remember I was running on this track that looks like those track and field tracks. The track has no beginning and ending, and I just keep on running and running. (Who says short cant run?) :) And when I run till I can’t run anymore, really tired, I turned behind and I saw Jesus looking at me. He smiled and gave me an encouraging look.
I turned in front and I began to see His face again. He was like speaking to me: Come on, Amber! Run! I turned behind again and He smiled and gave me a little push.
I continue running but very soon, I stopped again. I turned behind and there I saw Jesus encouraging me to go on again. I look in front and there He is again saying, Come on, Amber! Run! I cant remember how many times I stopped but I know every time I stopped, Jesus is always in front and behind me. And as I begin to preserve and keep on running, I realized I stopped less often, and I begin to hear this verse from God.
But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. ~ Isa 40:31
Tears were on my face as I heard this verse and I remembered I run even faster, holding on to God’s promise. And I remember myself confessing this promise as I ran. And as I ran, as I look forward, God spoke another verse to me.
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
~ Phil 3:13-14
This verse keep on coming again and again to my heart, and I run even faster, now I dont even remember turning back, but I just keep on looking forward and run. As I begin to look in front and run, I begin to have more strength, even with tears flowing down my cheek, I know I was running towards something. And even when I slowed down, I realized Jesus was just beside me carrying me thru. Never once did I turn my head. I knew something was in front for me.
Eventually, the whole vision came to a close. Have I seen what was in front of me? No I would say, maybe that’s want God wants, to keep me in anticipation of what He has in store for me. But I know He ended the whole vision by asking me to read 2 timothy. As I begin to flip thru 2 timothy after the whole vision has ended, I saw this verse that catch my attention and I know this was what Holy Spirit was trying to tell me.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
And as I flipped back to Phil 3:13-14 in my study bible, I saw this explanation of the verse : The imagery is that of a runner on the course straining every muscle as he runs toward the goal, his hand stretched out to grasp it. And my reaction was like WOW! I don’t even have to read the study bible to understand the verse but God just explain it to me clearly in my vision!!!
The whole experience was amazing, from the beginning when I started running and keep on looking back, to how he encourage me that He will give me strength to continue and to how we should not look back and reach forward to the prize that is ahead. And eventually the vision ended with a verse that promised victory. Hmm though I never get to the end to see myself in victory, but I know why God did that. In my spirit, I know He has already given me that victory, all I need now was to keep on running the race for Him and never to look back. And God is telling me that He is awaiting for me one day to really proclaim this verse.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
What is my eventual purpose on earth that will enable me to proclaim the above verse? Honestly I don’t know, but I know my God will reveal to me bit by bit as I continue to follow and run after Him. So friends I just want to encourage you all, never to give up on God, there might be times when you are tired, like me tired from all the running, but God says He gives strength to us when we wait on Him and we shall run and not be weary! And while you are running from God, don’t turn back like how I do in my vision, but you continue to press forward for the prize of Jesus Christ! And eventually, you will be able to finish the whole race and achieved victory!
God has impressed upon me to read 2 timothy. And as I flip thru the study bible, it says that this epistle is like a handbook for the young ministers of the gospel. There are several sections in this epistle on like how we should not be ashamed of the gospel, how we should be loyal to our faith, be strong in grace and how we should be ready to preach the word…etc. I think it will be really great if you can read that during your quiet time.
Lastly, I just want to thank God for that simple vision yet meaningful one. I love you, Jesus!!!
